WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN IS ABOUT:

Musicians and artists have always represented the soul and conscience of society. Often they are the ones who speak their mind and raise public awareness concerning problems and issues of the day. At The Earnest Tube we feel that this history, tied with the American Constitutional right of Freedom of Speech, makes for fertile ground. We have assembled ten diverse artists from the Northeast Ohio region that have something on their mind along with the talents to express their feelings in a way that lend itself to The Earnest Tube's unique recording process. The Earnest Tube has decided that all proceeds from the sale of these records will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Why The ACLU? The ACLU is a NON-PARTISAN organization whose mission is: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization whose stated mission is "to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States." It works through litigation and lobbying.

The Earnest Tube firmly supports all rights afforded under the Constitution of the United States, especially the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression. Every artist involved agrees that these ideas are fundamental to their values and donated their songs and time to make this project a reality.

What is special about The Earnest Tube? The Earnest Tube is a specialized recording studio that records artists "directly to disc." Before about 1950, all music was recorded without tape recorders, directly to a lacquer coated disc. All recordings made for this project were made with one microphone placed in a room with the artist to capture and commit to the performance. Every artist brought a song to the table that spoke to a small part of the social upheaval that we are all now experiencing. There is no name calling, hatred, or bigotry in these songs; just a love for fellow people and the desire to be heard.

Artists appearing on Analog Rebellion: Ray Flanagan, Lawrence Daniel Caswell, Angelisa Crognale, Sands and Hearn, Aaron Civil War, Elizabeth Kelly, Jason Schaffer, Gretchen Pleuss, R.A. Washington and Brent Kirby.

We would like to offer a pre-order opportunity to fans that will allow us to cover the cost of pressing this record to 12" vinyl that will be sold and distributed in a manner that promotes Northeast Ohio music, musicianship, and local record stores.
